a rising tide

Over the years, as a couple, and in the voluminous conversation about everything from atoms to subatomic particles we have learnt a great deal about each other and one another’s interests, strengths, abilities and proclivities. From this we developed our avocation – and a now a rising tide is born.

What has really stood out in our relationship is that our vocation and ambition lies in learning and pursuing knowledge for the betterment of oneself. We quickly realised that this is also beyond just us as a family but extends to everyone because so many of us have not been equipped with the required knowledge to build ourselves, our household – partners and children, our neighbours and our Hebrew communities.

A rising tide lifts all boats is an aphorism; in a common context it means that an improving economy is beneficial to all economic participants. This is not too different, a rising tide – uplifting as we rise. It is one of the ways that we’re contributing to building our communities – sharing the knowledge.

Co-existence

The second greatest commandment is based largely on the context of us being able to live peaceably with one another. Co-existence will be a recurring theme in many of our discussions. We hope to spark conversation and start a movement which will improve how we relate to another as brothers and sisters.
